About Me

It is my belief as a counsellor that we all have the power within us to heal ourselves, but there are times we need a bit more guidance to do that and as an accredited counsellor with the National Counselling Society that’s what I aim to do.

I have trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural, Rational Emotive Behaviour, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt Therapy and have also completed training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Dialectic Behavioural Therapy.  This means that I am able to tailor my approach to help in whatever way works best for you and enables you to achieve your therapeutic goals.

As well as gaining my qualification in counselling & psychotherapy, I am also a practising Hypnotherapist and a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society.  I have extensive experience working with children and young people within a school setting , in my private practice, on-line and when appropriate at their place of residence.

Aside from face to face therapy,  I offer online and telephone counselling.  For many clients this offers greater flexibility and can, for some, feel like an easier entry into the world of therapy.  I also provide 'Walk & Talk' therapy for clients who feel more comfortable talking while being active.  This is a service I currently provide in Lowndes Park - Chesham, Regent's Park - Central London and Furzton Lake - Milton Keynes.  However, if there is another location you feel would work better for you, we can discuss this further.

Outside my counselling work I presenting talks about various mental health issues at schools and colleges.  I also run a weekly mindfulness based stress reduction group.   My main areas of expertise are eating disorders, self-harm, stress, depression and anxiety.
